Confirmation of my Crochet Technical Editing Skills

Updated: Apr 29, 2023

This is so exciting, so after six months of assignments and studying, I have passed my Crochet Technical Editing training.

This comprehensive course is taught by the acclaimed Carol Ibbetson at Cool Wool School.

And when the certificate says 'comprehensive' it really was...

We covered ALL the maths checks, style sheets, schematics, amigurumi, charts, colorwork, mosaic (inset, overlay), intarsia, tapestry, motifs, accessories, joining techniques, edges, garment shaping, calculating yarn amounts, and tricky patterns. I can even edit Tunisian Crochet too! Phew!

As an avid crocheter of many years and now a Crochet Technical Editor with experience in the crochet industry, I know first-hand how important it is to have accurate and error-free crochet patterns. A poorly written pattern can not only cause frustration and wasted time for the crocheter, but it can also damage the reputation of the designer or dyer. That's why I started this journey to become a Crochet Technical Editor and I'm here to offer my crochet technical editing services to ensure that your patterns are the best they can be.

What does crochet technical editing involve, you may ask?

Well, as a Technical Editor, my job is to thoroughly review your pattern to ensure that it's easy to understand, error-free, and consistent throughout. I'll check everything from stitch counts to gauge to ensure that your pattern will turn out perfectly every time. I'll also make sure that your pattern is written in a clear and concise manner, so that even beginners can follow along with ease. Using all of the skills I have learned completing Carol's course to do this in a systematic and organised way.

But why should you choose me as your Crochet Technical Editor?

Well, for starters, I'm a crochet enthusiast myself, and I know the ins and outs of the craft (I even have a diploma in crochet!). I've worked with a wide range of patterns from designers from established companies to up-and-coming indie creators, and I pride myself on providing high-quality work that meets their needs.

Additionally, I'm highly detail-oriented and organized, which means that I'll catch even the smallest errors and inconsistencies in your pattern. I'm also committed to meeting deadlines and working closely with my clients to ensure that their vision for their pattern is made real.

So if you're a designer looking to improve the accuracy and clarity of your patterns, I'm here to help. My crochet technical editing services will save you time, reduce frustration, and give you the confidence to put your best foot forward in the competitive world of crochet. My rates are competitive and affordable, and I offer a range of editing packages to suit your needs. Whether you are a new designer looking to get started in the crochet industry or an established designer in need of reliable technical editing services, I am here to help. So why wait? Book a 30 min Zoom call to discuss your technical editing needs and let's work together to produce the best possible crochet patterns for your customers.
